Gold finds from Sorte Muld exhibited at Bornholm Museum

 East Roman coin from the time between the years 402-450, when Theodosius (II) ruled in the Eastern Roman Empire.

More finds by amateur archaeologists on Bornholm. This was found by Kaj Pedersen at Brogård, near Klemensker. It is a Roman denarius from immediately around the time of the birth of Christ, when the depicted emperor reigned for a short period.

The coin is encapsulated and used as jewellery.

 Sensational find, just come in. Klaus Thorsen is the finder again. 

Circular knob that was attached to a magnificant sword. Was given to housecarls as proof of faithfulness and is from about the year 550. 

 


On Thursday the 11th. September these outstanding new gold bractea showed up, from the follow-up excavation of the area.
It was the same area that the big gold treasure was found in spring 2001.
